| It's now October of 2007 and a
few major changes have taken place in our lives. First we sold our farm at Rich Valley,
Alberta and bought a new, bare piece of land closer to a Major city but still isoluated
with three sides of the property being dead ends. We are about a month away from moving
into a new house. We have built a LOG HOME, main floor, 3/4 loft and full walk out
basement. A barn package is on order as well. We have
carved out areas in the piece of bush at the front of the property and placed horse pens
in the bush. All the underbrush was cleaned out so they look like parks. |
| Alberta is the hotbed of the
Walking Horse Industry in Canada.
We offer a
fine quality of horses in Canada as we show and pleasure ride flat shod and our horses
must possess a natural, head nodding run walk and natural talent.
My involvement with Tennessee Walking Horses began as a young child. My father gifted me with a palomino mare called "Merry", which at the time, as a young child, I thought was a strange name for a horse. My teen years were spent living in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and doing alot of riding there. As we had a cattle ranch, my Walking horse was also a great cattle horse. I also won many races with her at the local Rodeo's in Southern Alberta as she was one fast horse! She was also used as a pick up horse in the infield at the Rodeo's due to her showy nature and fearless nature. She was a very loved horse and a hard act to follow. |
| My breeding of this breed began about 13 years ago with the Purchase of a Delight of Pride Granddaughter whose grandsire on the bottom side is Crosbys Black Rebel. She had five wonderful foals for me, each of which were sold. She is now living in Washington and has a full time career as a trail Mount. |

After all these years and selective buying and breeding I now have a
herd of nine mares that I feel are good Ambassadors for the breed and produce very natural
gaited and well mannered babies for me.
I do like to
add colour to my horses as well but that is not the main objective, that is to produce
natural, well gaited, loose moving, pleasure and show horses that have a loveable nature,
good bloodlines and lastly if the odds work in my favour, colour.
I do not breed every mare every year and have about 5 foals a year for sale. They have been up to this point in time from hand picked stallions both from Canada and the USA. If you check my STALLIONS page you will find I now have my own stallion and another coming up for next spring. These stallions will cross well with my mares to produce the kind of foal I want to have associated with my breeding program. |
| Other than looking after my Walking Horse business I also try to trail ride in the Mountains of Alberta as often as I can. There is the payoff, a well gaited, quick moving walking horse and nothing but mountains, open meadows, cold Mountain streams, all the things that God created for our enjoyment. Yes, all of the work is worth it. Enough of that, now onto more about my horses. |
